‘Our Island and its Influences’
Sustainable Development Goal Focus
This term we will be looking at the Stone Age and how its influences can still be felt in this country today. We will be covering key skills used by historians to uncover and understand the past. We will be going on a trip to Layer Marney Tower to explore what life was like in the Stone Age. Later in the term, we will be applying the skills we have learnt to the Iron Age and continuing to explore the Stone Age in independent stage 3 projects.
In Maths, we will be using the Power Maths programme, which is mastery approach programme which encourages and sparks curiosity and excitement while giving children opportunities to apply their skills to a variety of problem solving questions.
This half-term in Maths we will be covering the following:
Arithmetic will be consolidated by using Fluent in 5. A set of 5 arithmetic questions which are answered in 5 minutes.
