Why Join Us?
There are many reasons why we feel our school is a perfect place to send your child.
At King's Ford Academy, our ethos, which was chosen by the pupils, is 'Achieve it, Believe it', and this aim permeates our school. We truly believe in high expectations for all pupils, in an inclusive environment where all pupils can achieve with the right support.
Firstly, we ensure pupils are in the right place to maximise learning, with clear routines and high expectations. If support is required, our pastoral/inclusion team are trained work with pupils to develop strategies with the pupils to help them to be ready to learn.
Our curriculum offer is progressive, broad and balanced, and complementing this we investigate and use resources and strategies to help pupils learn. Recent training has included: understanding how pupils learn, including developing their metacognition and independence, freeing up working memory; improving Oracy skills and Learning Outside the Classroom.
A particular resource we have been developing the use of, supported by the designer, has been the Structural Learning resources. These resources have: developed pupils vocabulary and understanding of how they learn, scaffolded pupils' work with peers to clarify their ideas and embed learning, enabled tasks to be broken down into small steps to allow all pupils to access learning, and improved learning behaviours through the life-long learning skills.
The King's Ford team are here to help all pupils to believe and then achieve their potential, in a friendly, supportive and welcoming environment.
