Year 4-Venus
Welcome to Venus!
Teacher: Miss Robinson
LSA: Mrs Clarke
Welcome to the Venus class page. Our class is named after the Goddess of love and we work as a team in Venus, using all of the growth mindset characters to ensure we learn to the best of our ability. In Venus, we love working outside the classroom and much or our learning is active and based around discussions. We will keep updating this page with the amazing learning that is happening in and around our school.
Our PE days are currently Tuesday and Wednesday. If anything changes we will use parent mail to keep you updated..
Misty Mountain, Winding River
In the spring term, year 4 will be researching mountains; the different types and how they are formed. In the second half of the term we will be looking at rivers leading up to a visit to Epping forest where they will be looking at how an actual river forms and changes its course.
Reading
We highly encourage reading at home as it is the best way for children to make progress and develop a love of reading. Reading records should be taken home at the end of each day
English
In English, we are currently looking at recounts and will be writing our own on our school trip to West Stow. In reading, we will be working through our VIPERS skills, focussing on one each week. Children should be taking their reading records home each day for reading at home. Spellings will be given out each week to be stuck into reading records for practising at home.
Spellings
Spellings
Spellings handed out each Friday to be tested on the following Friday. Please see a list of common exception words that children should practise alongside their weekly spellings.
